December's box features one of our fave energy ball brands, The Bondi Kitchen. December's pick is the utterly delicious cacao and orange flavour, perfect for this time of year. We caught up with the founder Sarah to learn more about this fab brand.

How did it all begin for The Bondi Kitchen?

I’ve been making energy balls from various fruit, nut and superfood combinations for many years. As a Holistic Chef, I’m often tasked with coming up with delicious and inspired ways for my clients to get more nutrients in their diet, and energy balls have always proved to be the most popular choice. They are easy to eat on the go, a good source of dietary fibre and plant protein, and a terrific source of sustained energy – the perfect snack!

December's box features your cacao & orange balls. What makes these a great snack?

Our Cacao & Orange Bliss Balls are the perfect afternoon pick me up, or a totally delicious after dinner treat. People love the soft and chewy texture of our energy balls, and our cacao-based snacks are especially rich and indulgent. If you’re trying to cut down on refined sugar, these energy balls are the perfect snack for you.

What's next for Bondi Kitchen?

So many exciting plans in the pipeline! As well as developing new products for launch next year, we’re really trying to interact with consumers and grow our loyal following. As well as loving our products, people seem to really like the authentic vibe of our brand and ethos. Our focus is on eating well, feeling great and creating great food for the environment.

We’ve just become a supporting member of 1% for the Planet, which will all come into play in the New Year. Every time someone buys one of our products, 1% of the sale will go straight back into supporting the planet whether it be helping reverse the effects of climate change, removing rubbish and substances from the ocean, or improving access to sustainable, healthy food.

'Tis the season, do you have any Aussie Christmas traditions that you could share with us?

Oh, so many! As much as I love London in the lead up to Christmas, nothing beats an early morning dip in the ocean on Christmas day followed by a glass of champers, with the morning sun on your face. And barefoot back-yard cricket is a must!
